The CCL Double Ended Joint Grip (DEJ-Type) is a precision-engineered anchor designed for active prestressing applications using 15mm diameter 7-wire strand. The internal spring and capped body provide rapid installation, reliable strand retention and consistent load transfer under stressing.
The internal spring ensures the strand remains positively engaged, even when jacks do not feature power lock-off or when detensioning multi-strand beds. The spring and cap/joint plug operate as a complete unit to prevent wedge misalignment and ensure the wedge is in close proximity to the tapered wall of the barrel when the load is applied.
Because they contain several internal components, they require slightly more careful cleaning and handling than open-type grips, but provide highly dependable performance in everyday precast operations.
Strand Compatibility
The 15mm enclosed grip uses CCL wedge 604225, which is compatible with the following strand sizes:
European Seven-Wire Strand (EN 10138)
15.20mm / 139.0mm2 (1670 MPa Breaking Load / UTS = 232kN)
15.20mm / 139.0mm2 (1770 MPa Breaking Load / UTS = 246kN)
15.30mm / 140.0mm2 (1770 MPa Breaking Load / UTS = 248kN)
15.70mm / 150.0mm2 (1770 MPa Breaking Load / UTS = 266kN)
15.20mm / 139.0mm2 (1860 MPa Breaking Load / UTS = 259kN)
15.30mm / 140.0mm2 (1860 MPa Breaking Load / UTS = 260kN)
15.70mm / 150.0mm2 (1860 MPa Breaking Load / UTS = 279kN)
15.20mm / 165.0mm2 (1820 MPa Breaking Load / UTS = 300kN)
15.20mm / 165.0mm2 (1860 MPa Breaking Load / UTS = 307kN)
American Seven-Wire Strand (ASTM A416 Grade 1860)
0.600in (15.20mm) / 0.216in2 (250000psi Breaking Load / UTS = 54000lbf)
(Note: Customers using non-standard strand should contact CCL for confirmation of compatibility.)
Usage Notes
Ensure strand is cut square and free of deformation
For complete assemblies, no lubrication or assembly is required – ready to use immediately
Inspect internal components regularly in high-cycle environments
Avoid impact damage to the cap or press-in tube during handling
